What is the Fuel Surcharge Fee?
The Fuel Surcharge Fee is tied to the cost of the diesel fuel that our vehicles use to deliver your grocery order. It is an index-based surcharge that reflects the Average Monthly Diesel Price for Toronto, as reported by Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN).
As the price of fuel fluctuates, you will see the surcharge accurately and transparently reflected in the Fuel Surcharge Fee at checkout – separate from the delivery cost.
How Is My Fuel Surcharge Calculated?
Grocery Gateway will use an index-based surcharge that is adjusted on the first Monday of every month. That means that if diesel fuel prices increase or decrease, they will be accurately reflected on your order at checkout.

|Toronto Average Monthly Retail Diesel Price (per Litre) |
|At Least||But less than|| |
|Less than $1.10||No Charge|
* The surcharge will be based on the Average Monthly Retail Diesel Price for Toronto as reported by Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN) for the previous month, rounded to the nearest cent. Fuel Surcharge percentages and thresholds are subject to change without prior notice. If the Fuel Surcharge falls below or above the published range, or there are changes to the thresholds, the above table will be updated. If the diesel fuel pricing information reported by the NRCAN is delayed, Grocery Gateway may use reported diesel fuel pricing information from an earlier period.
