Classic Apple Crumble

INGREDIENTS

 

1 CUPS

apples of your choice, peeled cored and thinly sliced

3 TBSP

orange juice

1/4 CUP

granulated sugar

1 TBSP

cornstarch

1 TSP

vanilla

1 TSP

Longo's Ground Cinnamon, divided

1/2 CUP

brown sugar, firmly packed

1/4 CUP

all-purpose flour

4 TBSP

unsalted butter

1/2 CUP

quick oats 

 

 


DIRECTIONS

 

  1. COMBINE apples and orange juice in a large bowl. Stir in granulated sugar, cornstarch, vanilla and 1/2 tsp cinnamon; toss to coat.
  2. SPOON mixture into greased 8 x 8-inch baking dish. In medium bowl, combine brown sugar, flour and remaining cinnamon; mix well. Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; stir in oats. Pour over apple mixture. 
  3. BAKE at 400F for 25-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Serve with warm or at room temperature.
